Use the zoom for convenience

Zoom is a good thing, however as a beginner you should be careful with how and when to use it. While it’s perfectly ok to use it up to a certain proportion for your convenience over-zooming can harm the quality of the photo ( unless you will get to the point to become more familiar with photography, when you will know what to do to keep or enhance the quality of zoomed photos).

Zooming is great for the following reasons:

• If you want to bring something closer.
• If you only want to take a photo of a detail of a certain object and not the whole thing.
• If you want to take a specific shoot of something you have no chance to get closer to
• If you need a more detailed view of a certain object or person

Apart from the zoom in, there is the zoom out feature too, which can however be found only on specialized cameras.
