Starting to photograph, imitate the style of great masters

First of all this is nowhere to suggest, that you can only get ahead if you copy others’ styles This title moves more along the lines of learning Learn specific photography styles, get albums, books of famous photographers (National Geographic is by far one of the best source for observing and learning from top notch photography) and try to understand how they create their signature styles and concepts.

After this understandings, you can go ahead and simply start experimenting with concepts on your own one important thing: this is not about Photoshop. Only those without any photo skills think that all. Photos are edited with Photoshop, photo artists/journalists use post editing with extra-large care (if they use any)

All in all, find one or two very good photographers for each style of photography, then try to grasp what makes them great photographers, what methods exactly they are using and how they apply those for their photos to become special. You will realize that you will learn a lot in the process.
